For Homeowners

Get the trim right the first time.

Trim is a big line item and easy to get wrong. I'm an independent expert who helps you plan it well, ask your builder the right questions, and hold the finished work to a standard everyone's proud of — I don't install, and I never bid against your contractor.

What good looks like — and what an independent set of eyes helps you actually get.

The Problem

Sound familiar?

  • You're investing real money in trim and want to plan it well from the very start.
  • You'd like to understand your bids — what's included and what's worth it — so you can choose with confidence.
  • You want a knowledgeable, independent sounding board before you commit to a direction.
  • You want the finished work to meet a standard you can point to — and the vocabulary to talk about it with your builder.
The goal isn't to catch your contractor out. It's to help you brief them well and hold the work to a standard you can both be proud of.

How I Help

What working together looks like

What you get

An independent expert in your corner — not competing with your contractor, just making sure you brief them well and the work holds up. I review plans and bids, walk your job in person or on video, and give you clear recommendations in writing.

How we work

Send your plans, photos, and bids ahead of time. We meet for a focused session, in person around Knoxville or by video anywhere in the country. You leave with a clear plan and honest answers.

What it costs

The Consultation is $125 — a rounding error against the cost of getting trim wrong on a whole house. There's no free discovery call; the session is the value, and the $125 is credited toward any larger engagement if you need more than a short consult.

Frequently asked

A trim contractor installs the work; I don't install and I don't bid against anyone. I'm an independent consultant, so I can be a neutral set of eyes that helps you and your builder land on the same standard — without competing for the job.
